Welcome!

Hi, everyone!

My name is Erin and in this first blog post I want to share a little bit about me so you can get to know me, my life, and my writing.

I'm a thirty something Midwesterner (born and bred in Iowa and love it here!). I grew up loving words in all their forms. I remember writing my own little stories growing up and I spent tons of time in elementary and middle school in the school library browsing books or volunteering at our local public library. During high school, I helped co-found our school literary club and prided myself on my reading list each year. This time in my life found me very into writing poetry over fiction, which was probably apropos of the teenage angst flowing through me.

As I moved onto college and early adulthood; marriage and kids and then divorce came along and my life filled up fast. While reading often took a back seat (tired nights), writing was still a respite in my chaotic life, though it happened only occasionally as inspiration struck or I desperately needed the self-care. But it was still always there.

As my kids have grown over the years my free-time focus has shifted back to my writing and working to make it into something tangible and, hopefully, profitable. I realized how much I missed it. While I still don’t have as much time to devote to it (kids and day job still come first), I’m being more intentional with my time and prioritizing what is important to me.

Writing has always been a part of me and I hope to keep it that way and continue to grow it and be able to share it with you and the world.
